PORTFOLIO AND PUBLICATIONS
Graduate Thesis
This booklet showcases the final project of my Master of Architecture degree at TU Delft, which was developed during the Advanced Housing Design graduation studio. The project focuses on Dutch housing design and aims to create an inclusive living environment. The main question addressed in the project is how the mixed-use ideology can be rethought through a historical perspective to address the expulsion of the productive economy from cities. My personal interest in mixing urban functions stems from a dislike of one- sided urban areas, such as large industrial sites and residential suburbs.
2023 portfolio
In this portfolio, you will find projects from both my practical experience and my study periods for both my bachelor's and master's degrees. This selection of projects provides a representative overview of the various scales at which I have designed. The freedom I had during the design process in my studies deepened my interest in conceptualization and alternative configurations and construction technologies. Additionally, the portfolio includes designs closely related to my passion for sustainability in the existing housing stock. I believe that, in addition to constructing new homes, it is crucial to modernize the current housing inventory.
History thesis
This thesis delves into the fascinating narrative of the architectural and urbanistic evolution of Amsterdam's waterfront, unravelling the intricate relationship between the city, its bustling harbor, and the meandering River Ij. Tracing the historical development of this waterfront, the study sheds light on the city's past, exploring how it has been shaped by the ebb and flow of urban and architectural influences. A central focus lies on the imminent creation of new physical connections spanning the water, a strategic initiative poised to enhance not only the internal cohesion between the city and its neighborhoods but also to foster a more robust connection with the broader Amsterdam region.
